Description

1975 Triumph TR6

This 1975 Triumph TR6 is a US-market example that was delivered new in the UK under British Leyland’s Personal Export Delivery program before being brought to the US. The car is said to have been the subject of a refurbishment performed between 1999-2007 during which it was refinished in the factory red over replacement black leather upholstery.

Power comes from a 2.5-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and additional equipment includes a body-color hardtop, a black vinyl soft top, 15″ steel wheels, a bullet-style side mirror, chrome bumpers, and a RetroSound stereo with Bluetooth capability. Work since the seller’s 2021 acquisition reportedly consisted of replacing the head gasket and the clutch slave cylinder as well as resealing the differential, replacing the rear hub bearings, and ceramic-coating the paintwork. This TR6 is now offered with a tonneau cover, a car cover, removed parts, manufacturer’s literature, a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The body was finished from the factory in Pimento Red and was reportedly removed from the frame before being repainted under previous ownership, at which time the frame is said to have been stripped and powder-coated. Features include a black vinyl soft top, a body-color hardtop, a front air dam, chrome bumpers, a bullet-style side mirror, and Union Jack TR6 emblems on the rear quarter panels. A ceramic coating is said to have been applied to the paint, and the removed factory bumper overriders are included in the sale.

CHARLES & RAY EAMES, 1956

Silver 15” steel wheels wear polished trim rings and are mounted with 205/70 Goodyear Assurance tires that show 2021 date codes. The car is equipped with power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums, and the rear wheel hub bearings were reportedly replaced under current ownership.
The bucket seats were reupholstered in black leather and are complemented by color-coordinated replacement door panels and carpeting. Wood veneer accents the dashboard, and additional appointments include a heater, a wooden shift knob, a RetroSound stereo with Bluetooth capability, and Triumph-branded carpeted floor mats.
A wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer. Gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage are located above the center stack. The seller notes that the horn works intermittently. The five-digit odometer shows 53k miles, approximately 600 of which have been added under current ownership.
The 2.5-liter inline-six was reportedly overhauled during the refurbishment and is equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. The head gasket was reportedly replaced under current ownership. Removed emissions control equipment is included in the sale and shown in the gallery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The seller states the clutch slave cylinder was replaced and the differential was resealed.
